BLSA Canada has always been a vibrant and dynamic platform that fosters the growth and success of Black law students across the country. We are immensely proud of the impact our alumni have made in various fields, including legal practice, academia, public service, and corporate environments. Alumni achievements inspire current members and serve as a testament to the immense talent and resilience within the BLSA community.

En tant qu'anciens membres de l'Association des étudiants noirs en droit du Canada, les anciens ont joué un rôle essentiel dans le façonnement de l'organisation et ont contribué à son riche héritage. L'AÉND Canada a toujours été une plateforme vivante et dynamique qui favorise la croissance et la réussite des étudiants noirs en droit à travers le pays. Raphael Tachie

Raphael Tachie is a seasoned trusts and estates lawyer with over 10  years of experience, currently serving as a partner at Dentons Canada in their Tax, Trusts, Estates, and Wealth Preservation group. He has a broad background that includes significant in-house roles at major financial institutions like TD Bank Group, MD Financial Management, and Manulife Financial. 

Beyond his legal practice, Raphael is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the legal profession.  He is the immediate past president of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) as well as a prior president of BLSA Canada (2007-2008). In February 2023, he was awarded the Alumni achievement award for actively promoting Black inclusion in the legal profession through the creation of community and mentorship!

Raphael Tachie est un avocat expérimenté dans le domaine des fiducies et des successions, avec plus de 10 ans d'expérience. Il est actuellement associé chez Dentons Canada au sein du groupe Tax, Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation (fiscalité, fiducies, successions et préservation du patrimoine). Il possède une vaste expérience, y compris des rôles importants au sein de grandes institutions financières telles que le Groupe Banque TD, Gestion financière MD et la Financière Manulife.

Au-delà de sa pratique juridique, Raphael est profondément engagé dans la promotion de la diversité et de l'inclusion au sein de la profession juridique. Il est ancien président de l'Association canadienne des avocats noirs (ACAN) et ancien président de BLSA Canada (2007-2008). En février 2023, il a reçu le prix Alumni Achievement Award pour sa promotion active de l'inclusion des Noirs dans la profession juridique par le biais du développement de la communauté et du mentorat !
