Hello and happy Black History Month!
My name is Nicole Maylor and I am the Director of Advocacy for the Black Law Student Association of Canada. I am a second-year law student at the McGill Faculty of Law and welcome you all to this blog series titled The Future of the Legal Profession: The Black Experience.
This blog series will showcase voice of black law students from across Canada and their opinions, poems, ideas of the future of the legal profession in Canada from their points of view. In an dominantly white legal profession, it is more important than ever for us to come together to share stories, thoughts and feelings and connect through our individual and collective stories.
The posts will highlight everything from current experiences to future aspirations. My hope is that current and prospective law students can find their experiences in others, but also highlight the uncharted paths many of us find ourselves taking throughout our law school experiences.
Please enjoy the submissions, and if you have any additional comments, content or concerns please email me at email@example.com.
